Anna drew this picture back in June. She explained to me that she wanted to draw the blood and then the skin. When she tried to draw with the peach colored crayon over the "blood," it didn't work out so well. So, at that point, she decided to move on to the hair. Being the thorough kid that she is, she drew the hair all around the head. I don't think she was trying to draw a goatee. I think she just wanted hair all around the head, and I think she told me this was a picture of a woman, but I am a slacker, slow to blog, and I can't remember exactly what she told me.

Easter Candy and Dresses
April 7, 2012
The Easter Bunny brought flavored chap stick along with the candy. I think Evie thought the chap stick was candy. She LOVES lip gloss and the loved the chap stick, applying it constantly.

I kept taking pictures, hoping to get one where they were both smiling and standing up mostly straight. The double smile proved illusive. It's been only three months since I took these photos, and already the girls have stopped wearing these dresses and their hair styles have changed. Evie has become quite opinionated about what she wears and this cute blue dress no longer makes the cut. Anna's growing too fast and the dryer probably sped up the process, but her pink polka dot dress is now too short for her. It's amazing how time flies.

Dying Easter Eggs
This year, I had a hard time finding time to dye Easter Eggs. So we ended up doing it the Friday night before Easter when Anna's friend Will was over to play. It was a lot crazier with three kids, lots of plops and splashes as the eggs were dropped into the dye. I was worried we'd end up with dyed carpet and dyed clothes too, but we made it without any huge mishaps.

Evie keeps a close eye on her egg.
Easter Egg Hunts
April 5, 2012
As in years past, we went to our neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt a few days before Easter. Watching Anna at the neighborhood hunt, she seemed to be looking for the extra pretty eggs. Evie, on the other hand, was really pretty good about shoveling them in.Then on the Saturday before Easter, our ward had an Easter egg hunt too. They determined that every kid could have 7 eggs and rather than just spreading them across a field, they actually hid them (somewhat) and made the kids hunt for them. Dan had to be at Stake Baptisms, so Erica was nice enough to come and help me with the kids.

More March 2012 Snapshots
March 20
What can I say? I'm a sucker for photos of my kids in sunglasses. I'm not sure why, but I think it's so cute.
March 23
For a while there, Evie became very attached to her sleep sacks. She wanted to sleep in one and clutch the other two. She also insists on sleeping on her pillow pet every night. As the nights got warmer, I had to hide the sleep sacks. Otherwise she woke up hot and sweaty. We've broken the sleep sack habit, but these days she is very particular about which blankets are spread out on top of her and how. I think it's basically a stalling technique, along with the nightly ritual where she asks me, "you come back and get me?" and I tell her "que suena con los angeles" and she insists on a hug and a kiss and then she wants to do it all over again several times. So now, I go through the routine once and then I leave. She usually cries, but these days it's more of a half-hearted effort since she's learned that I won't come back in.
Pet Store Field Trip
In March, Anna's preschool went to the pet store for our field trip. We mostly saw animals like lizards, fish, frogs, and birds. Our host also pulled out a chinchilla for us. That was my favorite because it was so soft. Evie and Anna both loved the animals.
March 29, 2012
Evie didn't really want to let the rat crawl on her but Anna was all over it. She has no fear and said it tickled. Anna constantly amazes me with her lack of squeamishness. When I was a kid, I was terrified of most animals, especially bugs, worms, frogs, etc. Anna loves picking up worms when I dig in the garden. She has no problem picking up rolly-pollies. She loves feeding the goats at farm country. I'm so glad she's not like me.

March 2012 Snapshots
March 2: Two trouble-makers caught playing in the sink.
March 7: My two sickies, watching TV. I can't remember what they had, probably hand, foot, and mouth. They keep telling me that once they've had it, they never get it again and yet my kids have had it three times now. Hmm.
March 20
Dan has Church meetings on Tuesday nights, so he's usually gone late. On a good night, I will feed the kids dinner a little earlier than normal and this time we decided to go get frozen yogurt. The kids love adding all the toppings and most of the time they don't finish it all before it turns into a big soupy mess of frozen yogurt, gummy bears, and slowly dissolving M&Ms.
March 23
With all the warm March weather, we decided to go to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point. It turns out that my kids LOVE riding the horses. Every time we go, we have to ride the horses.Evie always looks so solemn, but I think it's just because she's gone to her happy place where she is filled with pure serenity.
