She may have a flat head but she's no dummy

Yes, Anna has developed a flat side to her head. So my proactive pediatrician had me take her to a physical therapist, which turned out to be a very positive experience. Mary, the PT, spent almost an hour talking to me about why Anna's head is flat and how to fix it. She also told me that my baby is ahead of the game in the way she can hold her head up and focus on far off objects. So I know that neck strength isn't usually a sign of intelligence and around high school age it tends to signal the opposite, but I choose to see it as evidence that even if she's getting a flat head, her brain isn't getting smashed.

Oh man. My Ethan had that. I didn't notice forever. I finally saw that his head was always turned to the same side in every picture. Then there it was--flat head. But you can't really tell now!

Did the therapist say lots and lots of tummy time? That's what my mom always said and it seemed to work though while Marcus may not have a flat head, he certainly seems to have a big head :)

She's a cutie!

Yes, she did say lots of tummy time and we're trying, but Anna doesn't really like it. And she's learned that if she leans far enough to the side, she doesn't have to be on her tummy anymore.

We know all about flat heads at our house!
